Safari Itinerary

Maun

On your arrival you will be met by your guide or one of our representatives to welcome you to our beautiful Botswana. Our team will be ready to assist you in anything that you may need assistance with. After a quick welcome we will then transfer you to Island Safari Lodge.

Located on the banks of the Thamalakane River, Island Safari Lodge is a cool and welcoming oasis in the heart of Maun. Shaded under a huge canopy of large trees, the lodge overlooks the river and floodplain beyond.

Island Safari Lodge is set on a 300 acre private island reserve, just 10 km from Maun Airport. The protected reserve has several walking trails running through the bush, perfect for a nature walk.

Relax by one of the two swimming pools or head to the restaurant and bar for the river view.

Mokoro

Okavango Delta - Morutsa Mokoro Excursion

Head north towards Moremi Game Reserve. The area that you will be exploring is adjacent to Moremi, although a part of the greater area of this exciting wildlife-rich area.

Once you have arrived at the mokoro station and meet your polers, you'll set off and spend the day exploring the channels by mokoro, a traditional canoe. Cruising the waterways you'll experience photographic opportunities of a lifetime. Stopping at a suitable and scenic area, you'll enjoy a light lunch.

After arriving in camp, and enjoying high tea, you'll set off again to enjoy the Okavango Delta by canoe. Game viewing from the water offers a unique perspective of the area and wildlife.

You'll continue to explore the area for the rest of the day, arriving in your campsite in time to enjoy the campfire, star gazing and the sounds of the African night.

Okavango Delta - Morutsa Mokoro Expedition

Waking up early you'll set off to explore the delta, in search of the many wildlife species and birds that roam the islands and enjoy the life-giving waters of the Okavango.

You'll also enjoy a walking safari on the islands, exploring and experiencing nature on foot.

This vast inland river is known for its sprawling grasslands and plains that flood seasonally becoming a lush animal habitat. Mokoros are used to navigate past hippos, elephant and crocodiles. The islands and dry land surrounding the water is abundant with many different plains species, lion and leopard.

Midday return to camp for a delicious lunch and some leisure time. Later, take high tea before you embark on the afternoon exploration. Returning to camp for sundowners, enjoy the sunsets that Africa is famous for.

Khwai

After enjoying a light continental breakfast you’ll move on to your next destination, Khwai.

Khwai is a village on the north bank of the Khwai River in the North-West District of Botswana. The river is the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve, and the village is just outside the north gate of the reserve, which is on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta. Khwai boasts all that the Moremi does, after all it is in the greater part of the reserve, and there are no fences that prohibit wildlife from moving across.

You'll arrive at the campsite in time to enjoy a wholesome lunch. After a siesta you'll embark on an afternoon game drive and enjoy what this remarkable area has to offer.

In the evening return to camp, enjoy the campfire and pre-dinner drinks exchanging tales of the day’s adventures. Afterwards enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by our camp chef.

Khwai - Savuti

After enjoying a light continental breakfast you’ll move on to your next destination, Savuti.

The Savuti area borders the Okavango Delta to the west and Chobe National Park to the east and is one of Africa's best known big game areas. Savuti is a place of enchantment, of beauty, and boasts one of the greatest concentrations of animals in Southern Africa.

Savuti is famous for its mysterious and fascinating channel. It runs a distance of 100 kilometers from the Chobe River, through a gap in the sand ridge, to the Mababe Depression.

You'll arrive at the campsite in the late afternoon. After setting up camp we embark on your late afternoon game drive and enjoy what this remarkable area has to offer.

In the evening we return to camp, enjoy the campfire and pre-dinner drinks exchanging stories of the day. Afterwards enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by our camp chef.

Savuti

After enjoying a light continental breakfast we depart to explore the area by open game viewer on a morning game drive.

Savuti is famous for its predators, especially its resident lion and spotted hyena populations. Large secretary birds and Kori bustards can be sighted strutting around the Savuti marsh.

You'll return to camp midday for lunch and afternoon siesta. In the afternoon head out again on another game drive to explore this unique and enchanting area.

Savuti's almost desert-like landscape, loose, hot sand, and elephants lining up to get to the water supply, offer a wildlife experience you won't easily forget.

In the evening return to camp, enjoy the campfire and pre-dinner drinks exchanging stories of the day.

Chobe

After enjoying a light continental breakfast we pack up camp as you'll be moving to Chobe.

Chobe National Park is Botswana's first national park, and also the most biologically diverse. Located in the north of the country, it is Botswana's third largest park, and has one of the greatest concentrations of game in all of Africa.

The Serondela area (or Chobe riverfront), situated in the extreme north-east of the park, has as its main geographical features lush floodplains and dense woodland of mahogany, teak and other hardwoods now largely reduced by heavy elephant pressure.

Arrive at Kasane in the late afternoon and settle into your lodge accommodation. A sundowner boat cruise on the Chobe River can be arranged in the late afternoon.

Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls Day Trip

An amazing adventure that will take you to one of the world’s seven natural wonders.

Victoria Falls, also known as Mosi oa Tunya, "the Smoke that Thunders”, is an awe inspiring experience. While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, Victoria Falls is the largest, based on its combined width of 1,708 metres and height of 108 metres, resulting in the world's largest sheet of falling water.

You will transfer to Zimbabwe after breakfast, to reach the town of Victoria Falls.

The morning will be spent walking the length of the falls, witnessing the world’s largest waterfall. As you walk through the rainforest you may encounter an abundance of birdlife and small animals such as bushbuck.

There are other interesting landmarks in Victoria Falls including the famous Victoria Falls Bridge and the Victoria Falls Hotel. After lunch, your guide will teach you about the local culture, amazing geology and history of Victoria Falls before your return journey to Kasane.

Departure

On your day of departure, you will have the choice to have a bit of a late lie-in, or just spend the morning at leisure. Check out is normally between 10 and 11 am.

Your pre-arranged transfer will be ready to take you to Kasane airport for your onward travel.
